Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:9-10
Sometimes it’s fun to make a game out of memorization. Try writing out the words or phrases of a verse onto different pieces of paper (sticky notes work well). Once you’ve read the verse several times, mix up the papers and see if you can rearrange them from memory. As you get familiar with the verse(s), you can try leaving out one or more papers, kind of like with the erase-one-word-at-a-time method, until you can do the whole thing from memory.
