Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
The more mental connections you can make with the words you’re committing to memory, the easier it will be. Drawing, shading, or coloring the words of a verse can be fun and relaxing, and it can provide your brain with additional “hooks” to latch on to for memory. For today's verse, try writing (or typing) it out using different colors. If you want to, you can make this verse a rainbow:
Therefore - red
as God's chosen people - orange
holy and dearly loved - yellow
clothe yourselves with compassion, - green
kindness, humility, - blue
gentleness and patience. - purple
Colossians 3:12 - black
Now you can focus on learning one colored word or phrase at a time. When you’re familiar with each color, you can start to put it all together and try quoting the whole verse.
Just a reminder to keep on reviewing the verses you’ve already learned by quoting them. I think quoting them every day (even multiple times a day) is a great idea until you know them really, really well. I doubt you ever have to review your ABC’s, but that’s because you said (or sang) them countless times as a preschooler.
